Kids & Teens

Course description

At the Aerial Playground, children and teenagers discover the world of aerial acrobatics through play. Our course is based on pole dancing – a unique combination of dance, strength and acrobatic elements. From there, we expand our range of movement and explore other apparatus such as the aerial hoop and the aerial silks.

The course is a colourful mix of:

  • playful movement activities
  • dance elements
  • learning tricks
  • targeted development of strength and flexibility

In doing so, we foster body awareness, coordination, self-confidence, and creativity. By making movement fun, we create a safe space where your child can grow, try new things, and push their limits.

Requirements

Our courses for children and teenagers are designed for participants aged 8 to 15. Participants aged 16 and older can enroll in our regular courses.

Registration

Course registration with Minor is always done online via the course schedule on this website. To ensure we can provide a safe training environment for your child, both the parent or guardian and the child must be registered before the first registration. In addition, we require a digital written declaration of consent from a parent or guardian before the course begins. Once you have registered, you can sign up for additional courses directly through your account.

Pole dancing in context

We create a safe and supportive space where everyone can experience pole dancing on their own terms – regardless of societal labels or expectations.

Pole dancing has a history. Its roots lie in the strip club scene, and that’s part of honestly engaging with this sport. At the same time, pole dancing today belongs to far more people than that history might suggest. Strength, body control, endurance, self-confidence: that’s what our students experience. And that applies to every age group. In our Kids & Teens classes, that’s exactly what we focus on: movement that builds strength, without any pressure.

What this means for us: We do not take any photos or videos during our Kids & Teens classes. Minor e.V. also deliberately refrains from showing minors on social media or other public platforms, even in unrecognizable or anonymized form. We are acutely aware of the special need for protection that children and adolescents have. Protecting privacy, respecting personal boundaries, and providing a safe environment are our top priorities.

Background & views on pole dancing

Pole dancing has historically been associated with the strip club scene. These origins are part of the history of this form of movement, and at Minor e.V., we consciously acknowledge this historical context. Pole dancing is a demanding art form that combines strength, technique, expression, and athleticism.

It is important to us to address any potential prejudices head-on: our pole dancing classes – particularly our courses for children and teenagers – are not about sensual performance.

We view pole and aerial as a holistic movement concept that:

  • Supports strength, flexibility and mobility
  • Improves body control and coordination
  • Boosts body awareness
  • Builds self-confidence
  • and, above all, instils a love of exercise
