Pole Art & Dance

Accompanied by our experienced trainers and participants, you can try out the pole yourself if you have no experience.

Aerial Hoop

Not only on the pole but also on the aerial hoop you can have fun at the pole picnic – or try it out under instruction. Let’s fly!

Movement Area

For us, the Pole Picknick is about movement, dance, and community. Why should this only be possible on aerial apparatus?

During the Pole Picknick, film and photo recordings of the event will be made.
By entering the premises and thus participating in the event, you agree to this. Minor e.V. ensures that the image material will be handled in a responsible and respectful manner.

Filming and photography are permitted as a participant in the Pole Picnic, but if you’re just watching, please refrain from doing so and respect the dancers’ privacy rights.
As organizers, we will ensure appropriate images and footage are captured and shared on our website and social media. We’ll make sure there are plenty of memories!

As a participant, you can, of course, film and photograph yourself. Please make sure that no strangers are recognizable when publishing your footage!

In particular, we would like to point out that pictures or videos in which children and young people are visible may not be published under any circumstances!

Highlights

2 pm

Opening & Warm up

We warmly welcome you to the 10th Pole Picknick and start with a joint warm-up. The basis for safe training and the perfect icebreaker at the beginning – let’s get moving!

2 to 6 pm

Responsiveness, Spatial Awareness & Community

We will spend the afternoon doing an exercise of spatial awareness, group perception, and agility, structured similarly to a child’s game, for example “Eckstein, alles muss versteckt sein”. The idea is that as performers (and also people who want to develop a more sensitive perception of space), we become more responsive to the individuals of a group, and are able to keep that connection through variations of distance between the participants.

The game aims to bring the participants to a state of attention and responsiveness achieved through playing, so that, just like onstage, we are spatially aware effortlessly, and lightly. The workshop is accessible to anybody, with any particular level/type of ability. You can step in and out at any point.

Joao Pedro de Paula is a freelance artist based in Dresden, a part of TanzNetzDresden, and holds a MA in Choreography from the Palucca University.
